ABC has renewed “The Goldbergs” for two more seasons, the network announced today.

The move ensures a Season 5 and 6 for the family sitcom, which launched in September 2013 and airs its Season 4 finale on May 17.

The show was created by Adam F. Goldberg and is loosely based on his upbringing. It stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Jeff Garlin, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and George Segal, and is narrated by Patton Oswalt.

The plot follows the titular Goldberg family and is set in the 1980s in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. It focuses on the pop-culture obsessed youngest child, Adam, as he videotapes life events on his VHS camcorder.

In February, ABC ordered a pilot for a spinoff set in the 1990s.
