ABC’s ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ Cast and Premiere Date Announced

Gary Busey and Ted Haggard will trade partners on Jan. 3. Maybe 2012 really will bring the Apocalypse?

Fans of lurid entertainment, prepare yourselves; the new year will be starting off with quite the bang.

ABC announced Thursday that its new reality offering, "Celebrity Wife Swap," will premiere Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. ET.

The title pretty much says it all — a bunch of famous people trade spouses, and the public tunes in to gawk.

So, who's participating? As previously reported, "The Buddy Holly Story" star Gary Busey will swap partners with disgraced evangelical leader Ted Haggard. Also, Public Enemy hype-man/"Flavor of Love" star Flavor Flav and Twisted Sister howler Dee Snider will trade sweeties, as will pro wrestler Mick Foley and actor Antonio Sabato Jr., and "Reno 911!" alum Niecy Nash and "Family Ties" veteran Tina Yothers, and Tracey Gold (of "Growing Pains" fame) and former Wilson Phillips songbird Carnie Wilson.

According to ABC, the show's participants will be subjected to "a mind-blowing experiment that will change their lives forever."

Dare it be said that the audience is in store for the same thing?

The series is produced by Zodiak USA (who brought the world "Hardcore Pawn"). Air dates for additional episodes will be announced at a later date.
