ABC’s ‘Romantically Challenged’ Debuts April 12

Ensemble comedy features Alyssa Milano as recent divorcee re-entering dating pool — without a clue

ABC has set Monday, April 12, at 9:30 as the premiere slot for “Romantically Challenged,” an ensemble comedy starring Alyssa Milano.

The show is created by Ricky Blitt ("Family Guy") and executive produced by Blitt and sitcom veteran James Burrows. Burrows also is the show’s director.

It’s Milano’s first regular series gig since "Charmed" went off the air in 2006.

She plays recent divorcee Rebecca, who after 15 years of marriage hasn’t been on a date since the Clinton presidency. Her equally romantically challenged friends include Perry (Kyle Bornheimer), successful financial planner, romantic and Rebecca’s friend since childhood; struggling novelist Shawn (Josh Lawson), the cynic to roommate Perry’s romantic; and Rebecca’s little sister, Lisa (Kelly Stables), whose deceptively sweet appearance masks both her pit-bull protectiveness of Rebecca and her wild side.

ABC asks: "Will these four romantically challenged friends ever find lasting love? Or even someone who lasts until next Thursday?"

The series is produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. and Candy Bar Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
