ACM Awards Wedding: Couple to Marry Onstage

New Jersey couple who met in a grief support group will be serenaded by Martina McBride and Train’s Pat Monahan as they get hitched during ACM Awards

It's an awards show first: During Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, telecast live from Las Vegas, a couple will get married on stage, as Female Vocalist of the Year nominee Martina McBride and Train's Pat Monahan serenade them with the hit song "Marry Me."

The New Jersey marrieds-to-be: Christina Davidson and Frank Tucci (seen in photo at left), who met in a grief support group. She lost her husband in 2009, in a drowning accident. He lost his wife the same year, to thyroid cancer. They became friends after Tucci began attending meetings of a grief support group Davidson started, and the friendship turned into a romance.

Davidson and Tucci have three sons from their first marriages, and they told CBS 2 in New York their sons will be watching the wedding on TV with their grandparents.

An ACM Awards website details the couple's relationship, engagement and wedding details, including a cake that will be made by "Ace of Cakes" star Duff Goldman.

The wedding follows Conan O'Brien officiating the wedding of a gay couple — including his costume designer — during a New York taping of his TBS show.
