Adam Lambert says a combination of jetlag, vodka and “irrational confusion” led to a blowout with Finnish boyfriend Sauli Koskinen that ended with the duo spending a brief stint in a Finnish jail Thursday.
“Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)” Lambert tweeted Thursday after spending a few hours in a Helsinki lockup.
Translated, that means Lambert and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen — a Finnish reality star who won the country’s version of “Big Brother” — were arrested around 4 a.m. Thursday outside a Helsinki gay bar called DTM (Don’t Tell Mama). They were involved in a brawl that began in the club and spilled outside.

The Hollywood Reporter said Lambert and Koskinen began fighting in one of the club’s back rooms, and were kicked out of the venue. The tussle continued in the street outside the club, and ex-Miss Helsinki Sofia Ruusila, who was partying with the couple, told a Finnish entertainment TV channel that Lambert accidentally hit her when she tried to break up the fight.
THR also reports a Finnish police investigator said he had completed his interrogation of Lambert and Koskinen and the two were released Thursday afternoon (Helsinki time).
Lambert’s record label and publicity firm did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
