Adam Sandler Is ‘Having a Good Time’ in ‘Uncut Gems’ Trailer – Until He’s Not (Video)

Kevin Garnett and Mike Francesa are here for the sports fans

Adam Sandler’s starring role in his new feature film is no laughing matter. On Tuesday, A24 released the trailer for upcoming drama “Uncut Gems,” which hails from the Safdie Brothers.

Due out in December, the dark film also stars former NBA Champion Kevin Garnett as a version of himself, as well as Idina Menzel, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox and Eric Bogosian.

Hell, even WFAN sports talk radio host Mike Francesa is in this movie, but that one is a fictional role.

Set in the diamond district of New York City, Howard Ratner (Sandler), a jewelry store owner and dealer to the rich and famous, must find a way to pay his debts when his merchandise is taken from one of his top sellers and girlfriend.

Perhaps K.G. can influence a Boston Celtics game? (You know, more than he ordinarily did during his NBA playing days.)

“You like to win, right? This is no different than that. This is my f—ing way,” Sandler’s Howard tells Garnett. “This is me. This is how I win.”

The big mystery remains: Did Sandler’s character resurface his swimming pool or not?

“Uncut Gems” will open in limited release on Dec. 13 and wide on Christmas Day. A24 is the studio behind “Moonlight,” Lady Bird” and “Ex Machina.”
