ABC wins primetime in key demo, NBC tops total viewers

Monday’s top shows, “The Bachelor” and “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” both came back down to earth from their season premieres while facing ESPN’s college football national championship game.

Ratings for that cable contest, which saw LSU defeat Clemson by a final score of 42-25, will be out later on Tuesday.

ABC was first in ratings with a 1.3 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 5.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Bachelor” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. averaged a 1.6/7 and 5.4 million viewers. “The Good Doctor” followed at 10, when it had a 0.8/3 and 5.1 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.9/4 and first in viewers with 5.5 million. “AGT: The Champions” from 8-10 posted a 0.9/4 and 6.5 million viewers. At 10, “Manifest” got a 0.7/3 and 3.6 million viewers.

Univision was third in ratings with a 0.5/2 and fifth in viewers with 1.6 million.

CBS and Fox tied for fourth in ratings, both with 0.4s. CBS had a 2 share, Fox got a 1. CBS was third in total viewers with 3.7 million, Fox was fourth with 2 million. Both aired all reruns.

Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 887,000.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.1/1 and in viewers with 561,000, airing repeats.
