(Spoiler alert: Do not read on if you don’t want to know about the upcoming season of “American Horror Story.”)

Like nearly every “American Horror Story” season, “Cult” has been clouded with secrecy — but co-creator Ryan Murphy is here to solve some mysteries for us about the upcoming season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, FX held a special screening of the first three episodes on Friday evening, followed by a Q&A with network head John Landgraf and Murphy.

Murphy revealed that “AHS” darling Evan Peters will play a number of real-life cult leaders, including Charles Manson, Jim Jones and David Koresh, as well as pop artist Andy Warhol. And this prompted Murphy to talk about Lena Dunham’s appearance in the seventh episode of “Cult.”

“Lena Dunham is playing Valerie Solanas, who attempted to shoot Andy Warhol, because she felt denied the cult of personality that was Warhol and the Factory at the time,” he explained.

FX has advertised “Cult” with images of bees and hives, which has confused many fans given that clowns have also been central to the show’s advertising. Murphy explained that Billy Eichner plays a suburban beekeeper but “bees are the original cult” as well. Whoa!

Lastly, “Cult” will be the first “American Horror Story” season without any supernatural elements.

“American Horror Story: Cult” will also star Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Colton Haynes, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Cheyenne Jackson and Billie Lourd. It will premiere on Sept. 5.
