“Star Wars” is bringing in another animated character into live action, casting Natasha Liu Bordizzo in its upcoming Ahsoka Tano series as Sabine Wren, TheWrap has learned.
Wren appeared in “Star Wars Rebels.” Voiced by Tiya Sircaris, Wren is a young Mandalorian warrior and graffiti artist, Imperial Academy dropout and a former bounty hunter with expert knowledge of weapons and explosives. Along with Wren, it’s been reported that Hayden Christensen will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, who was Ahsoka’s mentor.
Reps for Disney, LucasFilm and Bordizzo declined to comment.
Dawson debuted as Ahsoka Tano during the second season of “The Mandalorian.” The spinoff will follow her character after those events. “Ashoka” is one of numerous “Star Wars” series for Disney+, along with the third season of “The Mandalorian.” Next month, “The Book of Boba Fett” premieres and will be followed by “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Andor.”
Christensen has been confirmed to appear in “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” where he’ll once again face off against his former Jedi mentor.
“Russian Doll” co-creator Leslye Headland is also developing “The Acolyte,” a standalone series set apart from the main “Star Wars” continuity, taking place during the final days of what is known as the High Republic.
Deadline was first to report on Bordizzo’s casting.
