Alan O’Neill, an actor best known for his work on “Sons of Anarchy,” has died. He was 47.

He was found unconscious at his girlfriend’s apartment in Toluca Lake, California, on Wednesday, his rep told People.

“It’s with sadness I confirm the passing of Alan O’Neill, a brilliant funny and kind human being,” agent Annette Walsh said. “My thoughts are with his partner, children, family and friends at this time. I’ll personally miss knowing Alan isn’t sharing the planet with us any longer, despite the miles between L.A. and Dublin. Alan was only ever a phone call away. May he rest in peace.”

The Irish actor had a history of heart problems and was a heavy smoker, TMZ reported.

O’Neill played Hugh on Seasons 6 and 7 of “Sons of Anarchy.” His other roles include on “Inspector George Gently” and “Fair City.’
