An action-packed new trailer featuring Oscar winner Alicia Vikander as “Tomb Raider” heroine Lara Croft has just dropped, revealing new action-packed scenes as well as backstory for the rebooted franchise film.
Based primarily on the 2013 rebooted video game, “Tomb Raider” follows a 21-year-old Lara Croft as she embarks on a dangerous mission to an island off the coast of Japan that could hold clues about her father (Dominic West), who disappeared in a remote locale seven years earlier.

Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug (“The Wave”) is directing the action-adventure movie. The popular Eidos video games that have sold more than 35 million units worldwide.
The film also stars Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu and Kristin Scott Thomas. Roar Uthaug (“The Wave”) is directing, with Graham King as producer.The executive producers are Patrick McCormick, Denis O’Sullivan and Noah Hughes.
“Tomb Raider” hits theaters March 16.
