‘Alien: Covenant’ Trailer Explodes With Creepy New Xenomorphs (Video)

Ridley Scott’s sci-fi sequel hits in theaters May 19

Twentieth Century Fox has released a new trailer for Ridley Scott’s highly-anticipated “Alien: Covenant,” the sequel to “Prometheus” and the sixth film in the “Alien” franchise.

The trailer starts off simply enough, as the titular spaceship Covenant continue its journey through space. The crew land on a planet that appears to be a paradise perfect for human civilization, but soon realize that the planet is too perfect, as they find crops from Earth growing there.

That’s when they realize that humans have been here before … and that the creatures that killed them are still around. Cue screaming, running, gruesome deaths, and of course, chestbursters. The trailer ends with a quick but glorious look at the newest incarnation of the infamous Xenomorph.

Michael Fassbender, who starred as the android David in “Prometheus,” will reprise the role in this new film. He will also play Walter, the android that assists the human crew members aboard the Covenant.

The sci-fi thriller also stars Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.

“Alien: Covenant” arrives in theaters May 19.
