Allison Janney Tackles ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Course on ‘Ellen’ (Video)

Emmy-award winning star of CBS’s “Mom” takes advantage of her six-foot frame to navigate a custom version of the course alongside co-star Anna Faris

Allison Janney may have just won two Emmy awards for her performances on “Masters of Sex” and “Mom,” but she accomplished an even more impressive achievement on “Ellen” … at least as far as physicality goes.

Janney and her “Mom” co-star Anna Faris were challenged to tackle the custom version of the “American Ninja Warrior” obstacle course Ellen DeGeneres had built in her parking lot.

To keep it authentic, DeGeneres even invited “ANW” hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila to join her in the commentator’s booth to give the audience a play-by-play and blow-by-blow of the women’s experience on the course.

The co-stars made the interesting choice of deciding to work together through the course, but it became quickly clear that Janney was actually taking the challenge seriously. By the time she got to the warped wall, she had the audience fully in her corner.

Janney had admitted that she wasn’t able to complete the course during a trial run, but with the cameras rolling and the energy of the crowd enveloping her, she emerged triumphant at the top of that wall.
