AMAs are No. 1 Show in Brief History of Nielsen Twitter TV Rankings

Ariana Grande was by far the most-buzzed about artist Sunday night on the social media giant

The American Music Awards on Sunday night was not just a hit for ABC — it was a big night as well for Twitter.

A total of 10.2 million people saw over 7.6 million tweets sent in the U.S. about the show. Those tweets were authored by 1.5 million people and generated a total of 304 million impressions, with each person in the Twitter TV Audience seeing on average 30 tweets about the awards show.

Based on those numbers, the AMAs rank as the No. 1 episode measured by Unique Audience and Frequency since the launch of the much-debated Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings on Sept. 1, 2013.

2. Miley Cyrus‘s performance saw peaks of 64,929 TPM
3. Lady Gaga’s performance 41,571 TPM

Though only one those singers responsible for the AMAs top Twitter moments made the most-mentioned artists list. After all, that list was 60 percent One Direction. The most-mentioned artists during the live show broadcast on Twitter were:
