“American Gods” has added “LA Law” alum Corbin Bernsen to its growing cast, TheWrap has learned.

Bernsen will play the character of Vulcan on a potentially recurring basis.

The adaptation of the Neil Gaiman novel portrays a war between the old gods of biblical and mythological roots and a new group of gods “reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs.”

Ricky Whittle plays the lead role of Shadow Moon, and Ian McShane also stars as his mysterious employer Mr. Wednesday, along with Gillian Anderson, Orlando Jones, Jonathan Tucker and Pablo Schreiber. Michael Green and Bryan Fuller will act as showrunners and executive producers, while David Slade will direct.

Bernsen’s Vulcan is an old ally of Wednesday’s, who may not be quite on board with his plans in warring with new gods.

The actor is best known for his role on shows like “LA Law” and “Psych.” He is represented by Innovative Artists and Randy James Management.
