FX Releases Bizarre Teaser for ‘American Horror Story’ (Video)

The spooky show, which stars Connie Britton and Jessica Lange, will debut on October 5

"American Horror Story" isn't exactly the kind of show you'd expect Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk to follow up their saccharine hit "Glee" with. You're not going to find its characters singing a grating rendition of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," for example.

Instead, as you'll see in a mysterious new teaser for the secretive series released by FX on Friday, "American Horror Story" involves furtive maids, ghost hands emerging from walls and a dude who turns into fire and disappears up a chimney.

In other words, "American Horror Story" looks like good, clean fun, only without the good and clean part.

Story continues after the trailer.

A better indication of what to expect from "American Horror Story," which stars Jessica Lange, Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott, may be found in the "clue" videos FX has been rolling out over the past two weeks on its YouTube and Facebook pages.

Then again, what those seem to indicate is that the show is about a woman's stomach being played like a cello.
