“American Idol’s” biggest night came just two days after Fox announced that next season will be its last.

However, on Wednesday all eyes were on who would win Season 14 as Clark Beckham, 22, and Nick Fradiani, 29, competed for the crown.

Following a star-filled two-hour finale that had Pitbull, New Kids of the Block, The Jacksons and Steven Tyler all taking the stage, the pair had their final opportunity to wow the audience at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

Ultimately it was Fradiani who took the title for “Idol’s” penultimate season, hugging his rival, Beckham, when host Ryan Seacrest made the announcement.

The season’s former contestants soon rushed the stage as a chant of “Nick, Nick, Nick” exploded from the crowd. “I can’t even think right now,” he said after accepting the trophy. “This is the best day of my life.”

Fradiani, from Guilford, Connecticut, then had to fight back the emotions to perform his upcoming single, “Beautiful Life.”

Fox revealed Monday morning that “Idol” would be returning for one last gasp next year, concluding its run with a 15th season.
