“American Ninja Warrior” crowned a new champion when Isaac Caldiero became the first U.S. contestant to complete all four stages of the grueling obstacle course on the Season 7 finale Monday.

The 33-year-old rock climber and busboy battled ominously-named challenges such as Mt. Midoriyama — a 75-foot rope climb — Area 51 and Psycho Chain to become the NBC victor and take home $1 million.

Maryland cameraman Geoff Britten also completed the final stage, but wasn’t fast enough to win the crown or the prize money, while Caldiero shot up the rope climb — which was constructed in a Japanese parking lot and re-created in Las Vegas — with four seconds to spare.

The obstacle course competition series, hosted by Matt Iseman and former NFL player Akbar Gbajabiamila, and co-hosted by Kristine Leahy, has set ratings records over recent weeks for NBC.

“American Ninja Warrior” has been renewed for an eighth season on NBC, network chairman Robert Greenblatt announced at the TCA press tour in Los Angeles last month.
