Ratings: ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Works on Labor Day

Part 1 of “Bachelor in Paradise” finale makes ABC runner-up

“American Ninja Warrior” went to work on Labor Day, topping Monday’s primetime and delivering a “W” for NBC. That should make executives at the Comcast-owned broadcaster tolerate their barbecue-bred hangovers a bit more than usual today.

ABC finished runner-up last night with Part 1 of its “Bachelor in Paradise” season finale. The second half airs this evening.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 4.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Ninja Warrior” at 8 p.m. ET earned a 1.5/5 and 5.8 million viewers. “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” at 10 put up a 1.0/3 and 3.3 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.1/4 and in viewers with 4.2 million. “Bachelor in Paradise” at 8 p.m. ET posted a 1.4/5 and 5 million viewers. “Mistresses” at 10 managed a 0.5/2 and 2.6 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 3.9 million, airing all reruns.

Telemundo was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/2, but sixth in viewers with 1.5 million.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 1.7 million.

Fox was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/2, but fourth in viewers with 2.4 million, airing just “So You Think You Can Dance.”

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.2 million, running repeats.
