“American Princess” has been canceled at Lifetime after one season, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap on Thursday.
The Jenji Kohan-executive produced Renaissance Faire drama’s first — and now last — season premiered in June and ended its 10-episode run in July.
Created by Jamie Denbo and executive produced by Kohan and Tara Herrmann, “American Princess” received a straight-to-series order from Lifetime last year. The show starred Lucas Neff and Georgia Flood and centered on a socialite whose wedding goes awry, prompting her to run off to join a Renaissance Faire.

The show was a co-production between A+E Studios and IM Global Television.
The cancellation of “American Princess” means that Lifetime no longer has any scripted TV shows on air, as its Greg Berlanti-produced thriller “You” was picked up for Season 2 by Netflix last December, and its drama “UnREAL” shifted to Hulu for its fourth and final season last July.
However, the insider who confirmed the cancellation to TheWrap said that the cable network is “still in the scripted business” and has projects in development, though they aren’t ready to announce those shows.
The insider noted that Lifetime views its scripted slate “a little differently than other networks,” pointing to the channel’s VC Andrews Casteel Family TV movie series, which aired its five installments from July 27 through August 24.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
