‘America’s Got Talent’: 9-Year-Old Belts Alicia Keys, Blows Away Judges (Video)

Angelica Hale even scored the Golden Buzzer from guest judge Chris Hardwick

A 9-year-old girl wowed judges on “America’s Got Talent” on Tuesday when she belted Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire,” which eventually earned her the Golden Buzzer.

When Angelica Hale stepped onto the stage wearing a pink outfit, judge Heidi Klum asked her whether she was more or less nervous now than the first time she stepped on stage, given that they were so close to the live show.

Saying she’s more nervous now, Hale began her performance and immediately blew away the judges and the audience with her rendition of the 2012 song.

After she wrapped up, the entire audience chanted “golden” to entice the judges to give Hale the coveted buzzer.

“I am so blown away because you walk out, you have those sneakers on and you are this adorable little child, and then you open your mouth and, how do those pipes fit into this tiny body?” guest judge Chris Hardwick asked Hale. “I just feel like… Angelica, you are the chosen one!”

He slammed on the Golden Buzzer and ran onto the stage to hug her.

According to USA Today, the song had a special meaning for Hale because she had to fight against a bacterial infection at the age of four that severely damaged her kidneys and left her on life support.

She later received a kidney from her mother. Now, she performs across the country to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
