The “America’s Got Talent” judges are blown away by a multi-talented singer-songwriter on Tuesday’s episode, as seen in an exclusive clip.
The sneak peek from the NBC competition series’ upcoming episode shows Chase Goehring, 21, introducing himself to judges Howie Mandel, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell.
“I’m a songwriter, so I’m always writing songs,” Goehring says from the stage. “I’m going to be singing an original song, and it’s called ‘Hurt.'”
The Nolansville, Tennessee, native continues about his tune, “It’s basically about a girl who is in a bad relationship, and I’m kind of like, ‘Hey, you’re not in a good position right now, and I could really help you out if you’d just give me a chance.'”
The moving song includes a rap breakdown which appears to take host Tyra Banks and the judges by surprise.
The twelfth season of “America’s Got Talent” launched last week with the show’s most-watched premiere in six years.
Among the breakouts from the Season 12 premiere were Darci Lynne Farmer, a 12-year-old singing ventriloquist from Oklahoma City who earned a golden buzzer after her rendition of “Summertime.” Also impressing judges was escape artist Demian Aditya.
