Amy Poehler to Be First Guest on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

TCA 2014: New talk show host joked they tried for Will Smith and U2, but they were booked by Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show”

Former “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update” cohort Amy Poehler will be the first guest on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” when he takes over for Jimmy Fallon next month.

The current “Parks and Recreation” star will join her friend Meyers on his debut show on Feb 24 in NBC’s 12:30 a.m. ET slot.

Meyers made Poehler’s participation official during NBC’s Sunday Television Critics Association winter press tour. At this point, Meyers is unsure of a musical guest for his debut.

In the previous panel of the day, new “Tonight Show” host Fallon revealed that his first guest and musical guest will be Will Smith and U2.

Earlier in the day, Meyers told TheWrap that his final “SNL” will be on Feb. 1 with host Melissa McCarthy.
