Amy Schumer I Feel Pretty Trailer

Amy Schumer’s “I Feel Pretty” will now open on April 27 instead of its original June 29 release date, STX Films announced Wednesday.

STX said in a statement that the studio is looking to continue the powerful momentum of the film since the trailer hit 40 million views since its debut on Feb. 8 and the first test screening generated positive buzz, which is why the film’s release was moved up.

“I Feel Pretty” also stars Michelle Williams, Rory Scovel, Emily Ratajkowski, Aidy Bryant, Busy Philipps, Tom Hopper, Naomi Campbell and Lauren Hutton.

In the film, Schumer plays Renee Barrett, a woman struggling with feelings of inadequacy on a daily basis. But one day, after being knocked unconscious in a freak accident at the gym, she wakes up believing she is the most beautiful and capable woman in the world. Even though her body hasn’t changed at all, Renee goes out with her new confidence and tries out the things she was too self-conscious to try before.

Screenwriting duo Abby Kohn and Marc Silverman make their directorial feature debut with “I Feel Pretty, and the film is produced by Wonderland Sound and Vision’s McG and Mary Viola; Voltage Pictures’ Alissa Phillips, Dominic Rustam and Nicholas
Chartier; and Schumer.
