Anchor Bay Acquires ‘Operation: Endgame’

Action thriller stars Galifianakis and Corddry

Anchor Bay Films has acquired distribution rights to the action thriller "Operation: Endgame," the company announced on Wednesday. The movie has a comedy heavy cast including Zach Galifianakis and Rob Corddry, as well as up-and-coming actress Emilie de Ravin ("Remember Me") and screen veteran Ellen Barkin.

Anchor’s deal, which was in the low seven digitst, includes theatrical, home entertainment, television and digital distribution in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Michael Ohoven negotiated the deal for Infinity Media, with Bill Clark, Kevin Kasha and Richard Turner for Anchor Bay Films.

The company anticipates releasing the movie in the third quarter of this year.

“We see big potential in audiences embracing ‘Operation Endgame,’” Bill Clark, president of Anchor Bay Entertainment, said in a statement. “Adding an action-thriller of this pedigree just reinforces our commitment to providing a powerhouse release lineup.”

"Operation: Endgame" centers around two rival teams of government assassins, who work out of a top-secret underground facility and use code names from the Tarot deck. According to a plot summary released by the studio, when a new hire joins the group, he arrives for his first day only to discover that the boss has been murdered and that the office has been locked down and turned into a time bomb. He must survive his ambitious co-workers, find the killer, and discover a way out before the whole place explodes.

The film is directed by LA and Paris-based commercials director Fouad Mikati and produced by Michael Ohoven ("Capote," "Devil’s Rejects") of Infinity Media and Richard Kelly ("Donnie Darko") of Darko Entertainment. Infinity’s Kevin Turen and Darko’s Sean McKittrick also served as producers.
