‘Anchorman 2’-Super-Sized Cut With 763 New Jokes Coming to Theaters (Video)

New version is actually longer than the sequel’s original theatrical cut

A new cut of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” is coming to theaters in the U.S. and U.K. beginning on Feb. 28 for one-week only, and a trailer hit the web on Friday.

The new version of the film, titled “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues Super-Sized,” will feature 763 entirely new jokes from titular anchorman Ron Burgundy and his 24-hour global news team, including this one from playboy Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) to a lady at the bar: “Caff or decaf? I need to know how I’m gonna make your coffee tomorrow when you wake up in my pants.”

There are also penis jokes and gay quips in the new one-minute, seven-seconds long trailer, posted below. The film is now rated R.

“When my editor told me we had a whole different version of the movie that was more than two hours long with nearly 800 new jokes, I was shocked,” writer/director Adam McKay said in a statement. “But when Paramount said they were actually going to put it in theaters, I did an 1950’s spit take. If you’re a hardcore Anchorman fan go see this. If you’re not, stay very far away.”

“Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” the sequel to 2004’s “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” was released in theaters on Dec. 18, 2013 and has earned more than $170 million at the worldwide box office to date.
