Someone recently sent Andy Rooney a copy of Billboard magazine, and the 91-year-old “60 Minutes” commentator decided to check out the Billboard 200 to see how many artists he could recognize. “Nobody I know,” Rooney admitted on Sunday's broadcast. (Sadly, the Glenn Miller Orchestra is not currently charting.) “I’ve heard of Sting and the Rolling Stones.”
“I don’t know who Lady Gaga is, and kids today probably don’t know who Ella Fitzgerald was,” the curmudgeon concluded. “Maybe we should call it even.”
