Andy Rooney Stable After Surgery Complications

Former “60 Minutes” commentator remains hospitalized

Beloved television curmudgeon Andy Rooney is in stable condition after developing serious complications from minor surgery, CBS News reported Tuesday.

Rooney had gone in for the surgery last week and, despite being in stable condition, he remains hospitalized.

The nature of Rooney's surgery was not disclosed. Specifics of the complications were also undisclosed.

CBS News said that the commentator's family asks for their privacy at this time.

Rooney, 92, ended his regular "60 Minutes" segment, "A Few Minutes With Andy Rooney," in September after offering his cranky critiques of contemporary phenomena for more than three decades.
