Leave it to Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island crew of Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone to write a sexy slow jam with NSFW lyrics about slain al-Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden.
On Sunday, Samberg dropped a video to the song “Finest Girl,” a track from next month’s new big-screen comedy “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.”
A heavily bleeped version of the tune aired on “Saturday Night Live,” though it was clear enough that Samberg’s Justin Bieber-like popstar Conner4Real is singing a bouncy ballad about a girl (played by “SNL” cast member Vanessa Bayer) with a curious way with words when it comes to seduction.
“I knew she was a freak when she started talkin’, she said, ‘F— me like we f—ed bin Laden,” the lyrics go. And “F— bin Laden” becomes the oft-repeated chorus of the unlikely pop tune.
Samberg and his Lonely Island crew are responsible for some of the funniest — and most outrageous — musical digital shorts of the last decade, including “Lazy Sunday” and “Dick in a Box.”
Schaffer and Taccone directed “Popstar,” which in addition to Samberg also stars Imogen Poots, Martin Sheen, Bill Hader, Sarah Silverman and Maya Rudolph.
Universal will release “Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping” on June 3.
