‘Angry Birds Star Wars 2’ Coming to App Store in September (Video)

The follow-up to the extremely successful downloadable game may or may not include the much-maligned Jar Jar Binks

Rovio Entertainment — alongside LucasFilm — is releasing "Angry Birds Star Wars II" in September, the company announced Monday.

"The new game will tackle the prequels, introducing a wide roster of never-before-seen 'Angry Birds Star Wars' characters," Rovio said. The company also made a point of specifically saying saying that at this time it will not comment on rumors or speculation that Jar Jar Binks will be in the game.

The original "Angry Birds Star Wars" was downloaded over 100 million times.

The sequel will be released at the same time as over 30 collectable Telepods figures from Hasbro, which can unlock new playable characters. Players can place the toy near their devices camera and the app will "teleport" in the character.

The second installment will allow users to choose their side. "Angry Birds Star Wars II" will be released across app stores worldwide on Sept. 19.
