Ann Coulter rained a torrent of new fire and fury against President Donald Trump during remarks at Columbia University on Tuesday.

“I knew he was a shallow, lazy ignoramus, and I didn’t care,” Coulter told a crowd at the university during a quasi-debate with writer Mickey Kaus.

“It kind of breaks my heart,” she added. “He’s not giving us what he promised at every single campaign stop.”

News of the Coulter comments were first reported in a write-up by the Columbia Spectator.

“I regret nothing. … I’ve been waiting 30 years for people to say all these things,” the Spectator quoted Coulter as saying. “He’s saying what I wanted somebody to say. What I’m disappointed in is he’s doing everything ‘Jeb-exclamation-point’ and Marco Rubio said they were going to do,”

Coulter staked out a position early in the 2016 presidential campaign as one of Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters and even wrote a whole book “In Trump We Trust” articulating why he was the best candidate. She has long been close with the man himself and is one of just 45 people who he follows on Twitter.

Coulter however has soured on Trump in recent months with the primary issues being insufficient progress on the border wall and too many compromises on his campaign promises. After the president reluctantly signed an omnibus government funding bill last week, Coulter floated the idea of impeachment.

Despite the ongoing criticism, Trump has never attacked Coulter publicly and had declined to unfollow her on Twitter.
