CinemaCon 2017: David F. Sandberg will direct horror movie “Annabelle: Creation”

Warner Bros. has released the official title for the “Annabelle” sequel, which will now be titled “Annabelle: Creation.”
The announcement was made at the annual CinemaCon convention on Wednesday.
David F. Sandberg directs the New Line film starring Miranda Otto, Javier Botet and Stephanie Sigman, which will pick up a few years after the tragic death of a little girl. Her parents, a dollmaker and his wife, welcome a nun and several girls from an orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s prized possession, Annabelle.
“Annabelle,” directed by John R. Leonetti and was released in 2014.
It opened to $37 million in October and went on to earn $84 million domestically and $256.9 million worldwide. However, it received mediocre reviews accumulating to 29 percent on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
“Annabelle: Creation” will be released on Aug. 11.
