Annapurna has hired Adrienne Becker as Chief Operating Officer, the studio announced Wednesday.

Becker joins the company after three years as CEO of Killer Content, where she spearheaded the studio’s transition from independent film production to multi-platform media. She will report to founder and CEO, Megan Ellison.

“Adrienne’s diverse career background along with her knack for strategy and collaboration makes her the perfect fit to facilitate our growing company,” said Ellison in a statement.

Becker will remain on the Board of Directors at Killer Content and oversee the transition to a new CEO over the next few weeks.

The hire comes as Annapurna continues to prepare the launch of its new distribution division, which will start this August with Kathryn Bigelow’s currently untitled film starring John Boyega about the 1967 Detroit riots.

On Monday, Annapurna also announced a multi-year overseas distribution deal with MGM that includes territories such as Germany, Scandinavia, Latin America, Central Europe, Pan Asia and the Middle East.
