The film was co-written by Mindy Kaling and Brent Forrester. Hathaway is considering the title role of Lizzie, a casting assistant who wants to be a dramturge, but has low self esteem because of being teased by her three brothers.

Kaling may end up playing the supporting role of Mindy, a woman who has unlimited self-esteem and works in craft services on the same television show for which Lizzie does casting.
