Anne Hathaway was having a hard time feeling comfortable in her post-baby body while shooting “Ocean’s 8.” Enter Rihanna.
The actress told Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday that the female-fronted reboot’s director Gary Ross told her not to worry from the start, they needed as many different body types as possible for the movie. So she was feeling more relaxed about the situation — and even better when she received several compliments from her co-stars, the best being from RiRi, obviously.
“But I walked on set, and my weight’s a little up, and I’m just aware of it,” Hathaway said. “And I walk on the set and I’m in my jeans and I’ve done my best and I’m going to love myself no matter what. And Sandy Bullock just looks up and goes, ‘Looking good, mama.’ I was like, ‘Oh, that made me feel amazing.’ And then Cate Blanchett is like, ‘Nice jeans, Hathaway.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, this is so great,” she said smiling.
“And then Rihanna looks up and goes, ‘Damn, girl, you got a ass,’” Hathaway said, imitating Rihanna before throwing her hands up. “And I, of course, was gah, freaked out and loved it so much. I was like, ‘Really?!?’ And she goes, ‘You got a ass like me.’ And I can honestly say I’ve never had that experience on a film set before.”
