The CW’s in-development “Arrow” and “The Flash” spinoff series has added actor Franz Drameh to the cast, the network announced Thursday.
The “Edge of Tomorrow” actor will play Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete, whose pro career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew.
Drameh joins a cast that also includes Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Brandon Routh (Atom), Victor Garber (Firestorm), Caity Lotz (Canary) and Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave), who have all already appeared on “Arrow” or “The Flash” as their characters.
Newcomers to the spinoff include Arthur Darvill, who will play the time-traveling Rip Hunter, and Ciara Renee, who will play the DC superhero Hawkgirl.
The in-development project, still untitled, is described as an ensemble show featuring recurring fan-favorite characters from “Arrow” and “The Flash.”
“Arrow” creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are working with Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions to develop the spinoff, which will not be part of the current pilot cycle.
