“Arrow” returned for the second half of its fourth season Wednesday, and finally revealed the fate of Felicity Smoak, the DC superhero’s love interest who was left in seemingly grave danger in the midseason finale.

As Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) sought to track down and kill Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) once and for all, Felicity is shown in the hospital, awaiting surgery but very much alive.

But Team Arrow’s resident tech genius didn’t escape completely unscathed. After a specialist was flown in from Central City to give her the best care possible, Felicity’s mother Donna (Charlotte Ross) tearfully reveals to Oliver that the damage to Felicity’s spine is irreparable, and she’ll never walk again.

Elsewhere, Diggle (David Ramsey) reconnected with his brother, Thea (Willa Holland) confronted Anarky (Alexander Calvert) and Darhk’s wife revealed herself to be just as diabolical as her husband

By the end of the episode, the possibility that Felicity is the one in the grave shown in the Season 4 premiere was distinctly ruled out as new flash-forwards showed Oliver leaving the grave site, getting into a limo, where Felicity, alive and well, is waiting.

Seemingly holding in a lot of anger, Felicity is also uncharacteristically vengeful.

“You know what you have to do, right?” she asks Oliver. “You have to kill the son of a bitch.”

And the mystery of “Who’s in the grave?” adds another layer.

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
