Along with Supergirl, aliens are officially coming to The CW.

The villains that the heroes of “Supergirl,” “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow” will face off in their annual crossover event are the alien race known as the Dominators, the network announced Thursday.

“This year, for our mega ‘Arrowverse’ crossover, we’re taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who’d previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes,” said executive producer Marc Guggenheim in a statement. “We’re using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters.”

In the comics, the Dominators are an alien race whose caste system is determined by the size of a red dot on each being’s forehead.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti previously revealed that seeds of the four-part crossover will be planted in “Supergirl,” which airs first, on Monday, but things really kick off in “The Flash” and will span all four shows over four nights on the CW.

“Connective tissue will be in ‘Supergirl,’” he said. “But if there’s a beginning, middle and end, even production-wise, the way we’ve imagined it is the storyline kind of starts in ‘The Flash.’ But you’ll see a peek on ‘Supergirl.’”

In addition to this annual crossover, a special musical crossover, mostly involving “The Flash” and “Supergirl,” will take place later in the season.

The new “Arrowverse” season kicks off with the Season 3 premiere of “The Flash” on Tuesday, Oct. 4, followed by Season 5 of “Arrow” on Wednesday, Oct. 6, Season 2 of “Supergirl” on Monday, Oct. 10 and Season 2 of “Legends of Tomorrow” on Thursday, Oct. 13.
