The good news: Artie Lange says he’s making progress with his substance abuse issues.

The bad news: He also admits, “I still have not hit a homerun.”

“Howard Stern Show” alum Lange, who has experienced his share of legal issues recently due to his struggle with addiction, posted a lengthy Twitter thread on Friday to inform his followers that, a little more than a week ago, after exiting rehab, “I used Cocaine” and that, after a drug test on Friday, authorities are “making me apply for a very strict rehab type program called Drug Court.”

On the positive side of things, Lange said that he has been off of heroin for more than a month.

“Guys I will tweet about this once. Today in court they drug tested me. For the last decade or more they’d have found both Heroin and Cocaine,” Lange began his message. “With the help of in my eyes a miracle legal medication called Suboxen I tested negative for Heroin. I haven’t used Heroin in 41 days…”

However, he continued, “Ten days ago when I left rehab I had to touch the flame. I used Cocaine.”

Lange, who said that he has “10 days clean,” added that the cocaine “should have left my system.:

“It should’ve left my system. But a higher power wouldn’t let. E [sic] get away with that. I’m a bad addict,” Lange wrote. “I had to see if I could get high. It was awful. If ur on Suboxen don’t try it. So they are making me apply for a very strict rehab type program called Drug Court.”

Lange, who stressed that the judge and prosecutor at Friday’s court date “were unbelievably compassionate,” said that his ability to stay off of heroin is “the reason I’m not in jail.”

However, he wrote, “If I fail now I will go to jail,” and that jail “is not for addicts.”

“I have work to do. I feel now I can also stop Cocaine. But that’s arrogance and addiction. I’m accepting help,” Lange wrote. “If I fail now I will go to jail. Jail is not for addicts. But I’d be giving them no choice. When I use illegal drugs I have to score them. That’s breaking the law.”

Lange continued, “though I made progress & got rid of Heroin I still have not hit a homerun. But guys I got on base. I moved ahead.”

According to NorthJersey.com, Lange tested positive for cocaine and amphetamine on Friday while appearing in court for a probation violation.

While the judge opted not to subject Lange to jail time, the outlet reported, Lange’s attorney was ordered to apply for the comedian to be admitted to drug court.
