Atlanta News Men Slip Biggie Smalls Lyrics Into Broadcast on Anniversary of Death (Video)

“I know you thought birthdays were the worst days, but Thursdays might be the worse day [for traffic],” a local reporter says

Thursday marked two decades since the death of The Notorious B.I.G., so, naturally, Atlanta’s “Action News” paid tribute by sneaking the rapper’s lyrics into its telecast.

“And if you don’t know, now you know,” WSB-TV anchor Fred Blankenship said to kick things off before traffic reporter Mark Arum said, “I know you thought birthdays were the worst days but Thursdays might be the worse day.”

The on-air duo would go on to sneak several other Biggie Smalls references into the newscast to pay tribute to the late rapper.

Biggie’s mother recently spoke out about losing her son and accused the Los Angeles Police Department of covering up the unsolved 1997 murder.

Biggie Smalls was gunned down on March 9, 1997 in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles after his performance at the Soul Train Awards.
