“Bachelor” Finale Spins Eruption of Fan Interest – and Fury

ABC’s highly anticipated finale of "The Bachelor" dominated the primetime ratings Monday, as word spread online of the show’s surprise twist.

 

Bachelor Jason Mesnick broke his engagement to the show’s winner and asked out the runner-up. The two-hour "Bachelor" had 15.5 million viewers – the most its had since 2005, and its highest adult demo rating since 2003. The finale and post-show special left many fans venting their fury across the web.

 

"Whenever a show is really good, people think it’s too good to be true," said creator Mike Fleiss. "But this time it’s just really really good. It was a true change of heart.
