Tuesday’s “Bachelor in Paradise” premiere capitalized on the prior night’s “Bachelorette” finale buzz, but it couldn’t lift ABC over NBC and “America’s Got Talent.”

“AGT” lifted “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” to series highs in total viewers last night. Meanwhile, Fox’s “Coupled” finale closed with a whimper, banishing that broadcaster to last place.

NBC was first in ratings with a 2.1 rating/8 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 9.3 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Talent” at 8 p.m. ET scored a 2.4/9 and 11.3 million total viewers. At 10, “Running Wild” landed a 1.4/5 and 5.3 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.1/4 and third in viewers with 3.9 million. “Bachelor in Paradise” at 8 p.m. ET posted a 1.4/5 and 4.6 million viewers. At 10, “Mistresses” had a 0.6/2 and 2.5 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and second in viewers with 5.4 million. Between reruns, “Zoo” at 9 p.m. ET got a 0.8/3 and 4.4 million viewers.

Telemundo was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and fifth in viewers with 1.6 million.

Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and fourth in viewers with 1.7 million.

The CW and Fox tied for sixth in ratings, both with a 0.4/2. CW was sixth in total viewers with 1.4 million, and Fox was seventh with 1.2 million. The only telecast on the latter channel’s primetime lineup was the “Coupled” season finale.

For CW, “Whose Line Is It Anyway” at 8 p.m. ET received a 0.5/2 and 1.6 million viewers. “MADtv” at 9 had a 0.4/1 and 1.1 million viewers.
