(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Monday’s finale of “The Bachelorette.”)
Season 13 of “The Bachelorette” is over, but not everybody is celebrating.
While Rachel Lindsay is hoping to live happily ever after having given her final rose to now-fiance Bryan Abasolo, there were plenty of people in the Twitterverse objecting to her decision.
While you may think that who a girl gets engaged to is up to her, fans of the ABC reality dating show feel differently.
The Dallas-based attorney picked Abasolo over fellow frontrunners Eric Bigger and Peter Kraus, with most viewers thinking she should have picked the latter.
The overwhelming sentiment on social media was that Lindsay is settling and was really in love with Kraus, not Abasolo.
Before a very emotional goodbye, Kraus had told Lindsay he would propose if she needed him to show how he serious he was, but that’s not what Lindsay wanted — she wanted him to propose because he himself wanted to marry her.
And with that, they broke up — and Twitter imploded.
“I have never felt this disgusted and grossed out by a proposal in my life. What a waste,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Wasn’t she crying her eyelashes off for the other guy the night before?” another marveled.
A number of people compared their disappointment to last November’s presidential election.
“This feels like staying up until 3am just to watch Donald Trump win the election all over again,” one marveled.
