‘Baywatch’ Trailer Retooled to Look Like Original Intro for 90s TV Series (Exclusive Video)

Movie adaptation starring Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alexandra Daddario opens on Thursday

Watch parts of the “Baywatch” movie trailers spliced together to look like the original opening sequence from the famous 1990’s TV series in an exclusive video obtained by TheWrap.

The design staff at Thunderbombsurf.com took clips from several of the “Baywatch” movie trailers and edited them into the same format as the 90s television opening credits, complete with bad WordArt and the classic theme song.

The original TV series ran from 1989 to 2001 and quickly become a cult phenomenon. The series starred David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Michael Newman, Jeremy Jackson and Chris Fiore. The long-running show followed the adventures of a team of lifeguards as Mitch Buchannon (Hasselhoff) watched over the younger lifeguards.

16 years later, “Baywatch” heads to the big screen with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Mitch. Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Jon Bass and Kelly Rohrbach also starred in the remake, hitting theaters on Thursday.

The “Baywatch” movie was directed by Seth Gordon, known for “Horrible Bosses” and “Identity Thief.”
