CBS predictably dominated Thursday primetime with some pro football, while its partially owned CW died on the vine despite airing the “Beauty & the Beast” finale.

NBC finished a distant second in the key 18-49 demographic last night; ABC was runner-up among total viewers. Both aired just reruns on the final Thursday before the fall TV season starts. Fox followed suit, strategy-wise.

CBS was first in ratings with a 3.6 rating/13 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 10.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. The pregame show at 8 p.m. ET earned a 2.4/10 and 8.2 million viewers. The game, which saw the New York Jets defeat their divisional opponent Buffalo Bills, followed, pulling up the average.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.8/3 and third in viewers with 2.9 million.

Telemundo was third in ratings with a 0.7/3, but fifth in viewers with 1.6 million.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2, but second in viewers with 3 million.

Fox and Univision tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.5/2. Fox was fourth in total viewers with 2.2 million, Univision was sixth with 1.5 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 830,000. Following a repeat, “Beauty & the Beast” settled for a 0.2/1 and 734,000 total viewers.
