Beheaded Journalist James Foley’s Parents: Obama Didn’t Make His Rescue a ‘Priority’ (Video)

The journalist was beheaded by terror group ISIS in 2014

The parents of beheaded journalist James Foley said President Obama didn’t make finding their son a priority in an appearance Friday.

“We didn’t feel Jim was a priority, even though we were told that from the very beginning that he was and just to trust that everything was being done,” Diane Foley said on Fox News.

“But we don’t have very much evidence of that… No one seemed to be accountable for these four Americans who were captive together. No one could give us answers.”

Her husband, John Foley, said he was grateful to the soldiers that took part in the failed raid that tried to save James, but it came too late. Foley added he is seeking the establishment of a “dedicated hostage unit” that can help facilitate the release of future hostages and communicate better with families.

James Foley was violently beaten, waterboarded and starved while imprisoned by ISIS prior to his beheading, according to a 2014 report by The New York Times. Soon after Foley’s murder, another journalist, Steven Sotloff, was beheaded by the terror group.

President Obama has remained adamant that the U.S. won’t pay a ransom to ISIS for the release of hostage.
