In a powerful Instagram post on Sunday, actress Bella Thorne said she was sexually and physically abused “from the day I can remember till I was 14.”

“I was sexually abused and physically growing up from the day I can remember till I was 14… When I finally had the courage to lock my door at night and sit by it,” she wrote on the social media platform. “All damn night. Waiting for someone to take advantage of my life again. Over and over I waited for it to stop and finally it did. But some of us aren’t as lucky to get out alive. Please today stand up for every soul Mistreated.”

She used the hashtag #TimesUp on her post, which is a new initiative launched by more than 300 women in Hollywood to combat sexual harassment and gender inequity in the workplace.

#TIMESUP was also a topic at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, where many attendees wore pins to show their support of the coalition and many stars spoke out about the issue of sexual abuse and harassment on the red carpet and on stage.

On Twitter, Thorne elaborated, “I never knew what was right or wrong growing up..I didn’t know the person sneaking into my bed room at night was a bad person.”

The actress-singer first revealed she was molested in December, when one user asked, “What did Disney do to this girl? I think she was molested.” Thorne responded, “Yeah I was. So it wasn’t Disney” and “The world can be a sick place sometimes.”
