Ben Affleck has departed thriller “Triple Frontier,” an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap.

Paramount dropped out of the film that J.C. Chandor was supposed to start production on next month. Affleck’s exit also follows the departures of both Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum. Netflix picked up the project after Paramount bowed out.

Mark Boal wrote the script. Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment are producing alongside Boal.

“Triple Frontier” will be set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil where two rivers meet. That zone is difficult to monitor, making it a popular haven for organized crime.

The project has been around since 2009.

Affleck will be at Comic-Con this weekend to promote his upcoming film “Justice League,” set to bow on Nov. 17.

Deadline first reported the news about Affleck’s departure.
