Talk about a provocative question.
GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson told a reporter on Tuesday that his opposition to abortion extended even to an unborn version of Adolf Hitler.
And it was all caught on camera.
Following the GOP debate in Milwaukee on Tuesday, a blogger for SB nation asked the retired neurosurgeon, “As the most anti-Hitler, but also the most anti-abortion candidate, would you about baby Hitler?” Without missing a beat, Carson responded: “I’m not in favor of aborting anybody.”
Carson set off a social media firestorm after telling CNN’s Wolf Blitzer last month that he thought “the likelihood of Hitler being able to accomplish his goals would have been greatly diminished if the people had been armed.”
Carson was trying to make the point that if the Jews had had guns, the Nazis wouldn’t have been able to kill them.
Carson’s delcaration comes after fellow GOP candidate Jeb Bush said he would definitely kill baby Hitler.
Why all this talk about traveling back in time and killing the young Nazi leader? The question became a popular meme after The New York Times Magazine published an online survey on the topic last month.
Both the hashtag #BabyHitler and topic ‘Baby Hitler’ were trending on social media on Tuesday.
