Bender Helper Launches Social Media Unit

P.R. firm wants to better integrate companies like Facebook, Twitter.

Public relations firm Bender/Helper Impact is launching B/HI Buzz, a social media division that will work in conjunction with the agency’s account teams.

As sites like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace become more integral in marketing efforts, the new unit will offer clients integrated communications campaigns for their products, services and branding efforts.

Heading the unit will be Matt Meeks, who was previously the lead representative for the company’s entertainment technology unit. Prior to Bender/Helper Impact, Meeks co-founded, a Denver based Web marketing consultancy.

Among other services, B/HI Buzz will offer: Blogger Relations, Keyword Messaging/SEO, Digital Content Strategy and Creation, Online Contests

“Over the past couple of years, we have seen a dramatic shift in how media and entertainment are created, distributed, and consumed,” said Dean Bender, Principal at B/HI.  “Audiences are moving away from traditional media and engaging in the social web to share their news and entertainment. As a result, consumers have become powerful media channels, and it is imperative that we approach public relations from this standpoint.”

“We have found a great deal of success integrating our clients into conversations already occurring across the social Web,” said Meeks. “As more and more companies reach out to the hundreds of millions of people interacting on the Web, it is imperative that we consistently come up with new creative ideas and strategies ”
